Amb. Dr. Samori Okwiya, The Chief Executive Officer, NEPAD/APRM Kenya Secretariat led a team from the Secretariat to grow trees at Kwanthanze Secondary school in Machakos County.
This initiative is in line with President William Ruto’s initiative, which aims to raise Kenya’s tree cover by 30 per cent in 2032.

Last year, H.E President William Ruto introduced the initiative dubbed National Tree Growing and Restoration campaign which targets to plant 15bilion trees, reduce greenhouse emissions, reverse deforestation, and restore 5.1 million hectares of deforested and degraded landscapes.
