The NEPAD/APRM Kenya Secretariat (NAKS) is undertaking a two-day national sensitization workshop on the County Peer Review Mechanism at a Naivasha hotel.

Among the guests invited to the sensitization exercise are County Secretaries and CECs in-charge of devolution/coordination of public participation docket in the counties, representatives from Council of Governors (CoG), and Strategic Partners.

The sensitization exercise will pave way for the implementation of the County Peer Review Mechanism in the counties in an effort to promote good governance as well as accelerated socio-economic development.

This initiative has the full support from the highest levels of leadership at both national and county levels of government. Most of the counties have already expressed their readiness to participate in the county reviews that will be pitched at the level of the Governors.

A key output of today’s engagement will be a roadmap outlining dates
within which the reviews will be conducted.
