Mr. Peter Kimemia, Director APRM & Governance on behalf of Amb. Dr. Samori Okwiya, Chief Executive Officer, NEPAD/APRM Kenya Secretariat, paid a Courtesy visit to the Governor Nyeri County H.E. Hon. Mutahi Kahiga.
H.E Mutahi Kahiga, Governor, Nyeri County (Middle) on his left is the Director APRM & Governance, Mr. Peter Kimemia and on his right is the Deputy Director, APRM & Governance Ms. Munira Hassan together with officers from Council of Governors, Staff from NEPAD/APRM Kenya Secretariat and County Government of Nyeri.
Hon. Kahiga noted that Nyeri County has voluntarily agreed to adopt the County Peer Review Mechanism process: A voluntary governance assessment tool that mirrors the Continental African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) and enables counties to identify and address challenges in their governance systems. Additionally, CPRM aims to enhance good governance, accountability, transparency, and participation among counties.
Subsequently a team from NEPAD/APRM Kenya Secretariat visited all the 30 wards in Nyeri County and undertook Focus Group Discussions and Key Informant Interviews on County Peer Review Mechanism.
