The NEPAD/APRM Kenya Secretariat kicked off a training workshop on County Peer Review Mechanism (CPRM) with stakeholders from West Pokot, Turkana and Uasin Gishu Counties in TransNzoia County, Kitale town, on 19th September, 2024.

The training brought together over 50 Research Team members (Technical Officers) from the three aforementioned counties. The officials are being trained on the guidelines of the CPRM process and its importance in enhancing good governance. Additionally, the training equipped the county officials with the necessary tools, questionnaires and methodologies to effectively implement the CPRM process.
The participants expressed optimism about the future of governance in their counties. They observed that the CPRM process is an opportunity for them to showcase their respective Counties best practices while learning from the other Counties as well.
The CPRM process has been recognized as a vital framework for enhancing local governance, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and in alignment with community needs. It’s also a capacity building opportunity to enhance their effectiveness in service delivery performance.
